This dedicated individual is Muhammad Aziz, a banking professional who currently heads the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh regions for his department. What makes his story extraordinary isn't simply the act of charity, but the remarkable consistency he has maintained. For nearly ten years, this has been an integral part of his daily routine before heading to his corporate office.

Aziz, affectionately known as Foodman among those he serves, recalls humble beginnings. "When I was unemployed, I often dreamed that once I started earning, I would find ways to help those in need," he explains. This childhood promise transformed into action when he began his banking career.

From Sunday Experiment to Daily Service

The journey began modestly on Sundays. After discussing his vision with his mother and friends Dilip, Sathya, and Iqbal, they prepared approximately thirty packets of home-cooked food for distribution. The enthusiastic response from both recipients and his support network encouraged them to establish this as a weekly tradition.

"The philosophy was straightforward yet profound," Aziz emphasizes. "I wanted to provide clean, nutritious, home-style meals—the kind of food one would proudly serve at their own dining table. Those facing difficult circumstances deserve meals prepared with genuine care and dignity."

Expanding Through Community Support

As word spread through social media, the initiative began attracting unexpected supporters. A woman who felt uncomfortable distributing food herself offered to cook meals at home. A financially constrained student found ways to contribute within their means. Aziz began collecting prepared food from volunteers' homes, creating a network of contributors who cooked, collected, or helped distribute.

From the initial 30-40 packets, the operation expanded dramatically to nearly 1,000 packets during peak periods. The team began distributing across various locations in Hyderabad before discovering that the area around NIMS Hospital held particularly urgent need.

"The response around NIMS was overwhelming," Aziz remembers. "People would wait specifically for our food. Many had traveled from distant villages and towns to care for hospitalized relatives. These families often had nowhere proper to sit, eat, or rest while facing staggering medical expenses."

He describes heartbreaking scenes that solidified his commitment: "I've witnessed people walking barefoot in scorching heat. While we toss comfortably in our beds, countless individuals sleep on pavements with stones as pillows, anxiously awaiting news about their loved ones inside the hospital."

This profound realization transformed their weekly effort into a daily service that has now continued for an entire decade.

The Current Operation: Feeding Hundreds Daily

Today, the system operates with remarkable efficiency. A dedicated cook arrives around 5 a.m. each morning to prepare meals for 300-500 people. Once ready, volunteers transport the food to NIMS Hospital for distribution. The menu consistently features fresh, nourishing, home-cooked dishes that recipients genuinely appreciate.

The initiative has expanded beyond daily meals. During winter months, they distribute blankets for warmth. Every Sunday at MNJ Cancer Hospital, they provide fruits to patients, while Niloufer Hospital receives regular food distributions.

Sustainable Model: Groceries Over Donations

Rather than maintaining a bank account or accepting direct monetary donations, Aziz has developed an innovative support system. Supporters contribute by purchasing groceries through platforms like BigBasket or Swiggy, which get delivered directly to their preparation center.

"The generosity is astonishing," Aziz notes. "So many people want to help that we often have contributions scheduled nearly three months in advance."

Operational expenses—including the cook's salary, transportation, and fuel costs—are covered by Aziz and a core group of dedicated volunteers. On special occasions like Independence Day, Republic Day, and World Food Day, the team serves meals to as many as 4,000 people.

The Backbone of the Initiative

Aziz emphasizes that this is far from a solo effort. "Nikhil, Ritesh, Bharat Saxena Sir, Srinivas, Sanjay, Srikant, Sunita, Iqbal, Dilip, and Salam form the backbone of this initiative," he states gratefully. These committed individuals consistently provide support and cover expenses during funding shortages, ensuring the service continues uninterrupted.

What began with 34 packets of food has blossomed into a sustainable movement that feeds hundreds daily. In a world often indifferent to suffering, Aziz made the conscious choice to pause and address hunger directly. Because of that decision, thousands no longer face empty stomachs during their most vulnerable moments.
