St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh, successfully organised the Summer Internship Programme 3.0 under the Student Well-Being Policy Council. The five-day initiative, conceptualised by Principal Monica Chawla, aimed to enhance students’ emotional well-being, creativity, collaboration, and leadership through a series of structured activities.
Programme Based on PERMA Model
The internship began with interactive sessions rooted in Martin Seligman’s PERMA Model, which focuses on Positive emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. Students reflected on emotional well-being, academic challenges, digital habits, and healthy peer relationships. These discussions helped participants identify areas for personal growth and develop strategies to address everyday stressors.
Creative Environmental Campaigns
Building on these foundational discussions, students translated their ideas into creative environmental awareness campaigns. They produced e-posters, podcasts, reels, and an original rap composition. These materials will be featured in the school’s forthcoming Green Impact Calendar 2026–27, showcasing the students’ commitment to sustainability and advocacy.
Artistic Transformation of School Corridors
Adding an artistic dimension to the internship, the Creative Corners Crew transformed the Chess, Boxing, and Taekwondo corridors through airbrushing. The vibrant murals celebrate discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship, creating an inspiring environment for students and staff alike.
Student-Led Policy Recommendations
The programme also included a policy presentation session where students confidently shared practical recommendations to strengthen student well-being. Key proposals included reviving the Anti-Bullying Squad, introducing an Anonymous Heavy Feelings Box, reducing the burden of heavy school bags, and enhancing indoor sports facilities during the monsoon season. These ideas reflect the students’ proactive approach to improving their school environment.
Conclusion and Recognition
The internship concluded with peer reflections, certificate presentations, and a warm farewell. The school management appreciated the efforts of the Student Well-Being Policy Council, mentors, and students in making the programme a success. Appreciating the participants, the management said, “It has been inspiring to witness our students embrace every opportunity with confidence, curiosity and sincerity. We congratulate every participant for making this programme a truly rewarding experience.”
