A 17-year-old boy died allegedly by suicide at his residence in BDA Multi under Habibganj police station limits on Thursday evening. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.
Incident Details
According to police, Rohan Bain, 17, lived with his family and worked as a daily wager. His parents also worked and had left for their jobs on Thursday morning, leaving Rohan at home with his younger siblings.
When his father returned home around 7 pm, the younger children informed him that Rohan had locked himself inside a room and was not responding. The family broke open the door and found him hanging. He had already died by the time they reached him.
Police Action
Police were informed and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. After the autopsy on Friday, the body was handed over to the family.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to the incident.
