Bengaluru Graduate Dies by Suicide After Failing Bank Exams

A 24-year-old graduate, who was preparing for banking and insurance-related examinations at a private institute in Amruthahalli, Bengaluru, allegedly died by suicide in his hostel room on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Chinnu Kumar, a native of Uttar Pradesh.

Details of the Incident

According to preliminary investigations, Kumar had been studying at the institute and had attempted the exam four times without success. Police believe he was depressed over his academic performance and subsequently hanged himself in his room. His friends discovered him and immediately removed the noose, then alerted the hostel warden. Kumar was rushed to a nearby hospital, which refused to treat him due to inadequate facilities. He was then taken to another hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Timeline and Investigation

A senior police officer stated that the incident occurred between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM, and the information reached the police station around 6:30 PM. Kumar's parents have been contacted. “As of now, we haven’t found any death note,” police said.

Allegations of Harassment

Students at the institute alleged that Kumar's suicide was a result of pressure and harassment by the management. However, police have not yet received an official complaint regarding harassment. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances leading to the tragic event.
