According to official reports from the Koyilandy police, the accident occurred around 3:45 PM at a ground near the Korayangad temple. Adwaith was celebrating Vishu with friends by bursting firecrackers when he ignited one that had been placed inside a steel container. The resulting explosion was catastrophic, propelling metal shrapnel that pierced his body between the left shoulder and chest.
Immediate medical response proved futile, as Adwaith was rushed to the Koyilandy taluk hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. The postmortem examination was subsequently conducted at the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital to determine the exact cause of death.
