Kottayam: A stray dog attacked a three-year-old girl in her home at Paivalli in Omalloor, Pathanamthitta, on Monday morning, causing serious injuries. The victim, Sukanya, daughter of Prathibha, was playing with toys inside the house when the incident occurred.
Attack Details
The dog, suspected to be rabid, entered the house through the kitchen door and bit the girl on her eye and face. The mother, alerted by the commotion, rushed to the scene and rescued the child. She was immediately admitted to Kottayam Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Previous Attacks
According to local sources, the same dog had reportedly attacked a priest and an elderly person in the area earlier in the day. The authorities are investigating the case and have urged residents to remain cautious.
The incident has raised concerns about stray dog menace in the region. Local residents have demanded action from the municipality to ensure safety. The child's condition is reported to be stable, but she remains under observation.
