The city registered a scorching maximum temperature of 41.8°C, placing it not only at the top of India's temperature chart but also ranking it as the 13th hottest location globally according to meteorological data.
Multiple Locations Cross Critical Temperature Threshold
At least six locations within the Vidarbha region surpassed the 40°C mark, securing positions among India's top ten hottest areas. The affected locations include:
- Amravati: 41.8°C
- Akola: 41.5°C
- Bramhapuri sub-district station: 41.4°C
- Washim: 40.5°C
- Wardha: 40.6°C
- Yavatmal: 40.4°C
Even Nagpur, the region's major urban center, recorded a significant maximum temperature of 39.4°C, hovering dangerously close to the 40°C threshold. Meteorological experts have confirmed that Vidarbha is currently experiencing heatwave-like conditions, though some respite might be approaching.

Medical facilities in Nagpur have been receiving referrals from rural areas and nearby districts, including Amravati, for specialized clinical management of heat-related health complications.
