Delhi Expands Healthcare Network with 81 New Ayushman Arogya Mandirs

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta dedicated 81 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to the public on Wednesday. The inauguration took place on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti. This significant addition raises the total number of such healthcare centers in the national capital to 319.

Inauguration in Hari Nagar and Broader Expansion Goals

The new facilities were officially opened in the Hari Nagar Assembly constituency. Chief Minister Gupta personally inspected the Hari Nagar Ayushman Arogya Mandir. She examined various sections including OPD rooms, laboratories, medicine distribution counters, vaccination units, and maternal and child healthcare centers.

This expansion represents a clear step forward in the government's ambitious healthcare plan. The objective is to establish 15 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in every Assembly constituency across Delhi. Ultimately, the administration aims to set up a total of 1,100 such centers throughout the city.

Focus on Digital Systems and Staff Interaction

During her visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the patient registration process and digital health record systems. She issued clear directives to officials. Gupta emphasized the need to ensure transparency, accuracy, and ease of access for all citizens using these facilities.

Gupta also took time to interact directly with the healthcare professionals on site. She spoke with doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff. These conversations helped her assess the current level of service delivery and understand ground realities.

Highlighting Broader Healthcare Initiatives

The Chief Minister highlighted several key healthcare initiatives undertaken by the Delhi government. She listed the establishment of the 319 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and the creation of Jan Aushadhi Kendras. Other projects include the construction of new blocks in five major hospitals and the installation of additional dialysis machines.

Digitisation of government hospitals remains a major focus. Gupta noted that patients can now conveniently access OPD appointments and their medical records through mobile phones. This move significantly improves convenience and enhances transparency in the healthcare system.

Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, over six lakh people in Delhi have registered successfully. Thousands of families have already benefited from free medical treatment. The government has also raised the income limit for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category. The limit increased from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, allowing more people to qualify for assistance.

Ministers Inaugurate Centers Across Multiple Constituencies

Meanwhile, Social Welfare Minister Ravindra Singh Indraj inaugurated two Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the Bawana Assembly constituency. He announced that development projects worth over Rs 1,100 crore are currently underway in the area. These projects include work on cremation grounds, chaupals, panchayat buildings, roads, drains, sewer lines, and pipelines.

Indraj also revealed plans to develop two villages in Bawana as solar energy-based model villages. This initiative aims to promote sustainable energy solutions at the community level.

Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Mandir at the MCW centre in Sonia Vihar. He stated that comprehensive development works are progressing in Karawal Nagar. These works encompass drinking water and sewer lines, electricity infrastructure, highways, and metro connectivity.

Mishra added that sewer work will commence in Sabhapur after Sonia Vihar. Metro services are expected to start soon in the Sonia Vihar area, improving public transportation.
