Emergency Medical Centre Opens at Surat District Court

In a significant boost to healthcare accessibility within the judicial complex, a new emergency medical care centre was virtually inaugurated at the District Court in Surat. The ceremony was presided over by Justice A S Supehia, a esteemed judge from the Gujarat High Court, marking a collaborative effort with the Surat Municipal Corporation.

Essential Services and Key Supporters

The newly established centre is designed to offer immediate medical assistance. A medical officer and an attendant will be present at the facility every day. Furthermore, to handle emergencies efficiently, an emergency vehicle will be stationed and operational during all court hours on working days.

During the virtual inauguration event, Justice Supehia emphasized the importance of the facility and made an appeal. He urged all stakeholders involved to extend their full support to ensure the centre functions effectively and serves its purpose.

Collaborative Efforts and Distinguished Gathering

The successful establishment of this emergency centre is credited to the concerted efforts of several key individuals. District Judge Rahul Trivedi, Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, and Bar Association President Brijesh Patel were instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.

The virtual event saw participation from a wide array of dignitaries, demonstrating the project's significance. All judges of the district court, the Municipal Commissioner, District Government Pleader Nayan Sukhadwala, a dedicated team of doctors, and the office bearers of the Bar Association were in attendance.

A Step Towards Better Judicial Healthcare

This initiative in Surat represents a growing focus on the well-being of individuals within the court premises. This is only the second such emergency medical centre to be set up in the state of Gujarat, following the model first established at the Ahmedabad City Civil Court. This replication indicates a positive trend towards integrating essential healthcare services with public infrastructure, ensuring prompt aid is available where needed most.
