Nagpur to Welcome State-of-the-Art 450-Bed National Health Care Institute
Patients in Nagpur and across Central India are set to benefit from a groundbreaking healthcare facility, as the city prepares to launch the National Health Care Institute (NHCI). This comprehensive multi-speciality and super-speciality hospital will consolidate all diagnostic and treatment services under one roof, marking a significant advancement in regional medical infrastructure.
Mega Public Health Project by Dr Aabaji Thatte Sewa Aur Anusandhan Sanstha
The initiative is spearheaded by the Dr Aabaji Thatte Sewa Aur Anusandhan Sanstha, the same charitable trust that established the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Nagpur. The NHCI, a 450-bed facility, will be constructed on North Ambazari Road in Nagpur, representing another major public health endeavor by the organization.
Inauguration Ceremony with Prominent Dignitaries
The official inauguration ceremony is scheduled for 3:30 PM on April 24, with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat presiding over the event. The ceremony will be attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, highlighting the project's importance at both state and national levels.
First-of-its-Kind Hospital with Corporate Structure
Spanning an impressive 5 lakh square feet, the NHCI will be the first hospital in the region operated by a registered charitable trust but structured like a corporate entity. This innovative model aims to provide high-quality treatment to all patients at affordable costs, addressing the healthcare needs of Nagpur city, its surrounding areas, and neighboring Central Indian states.
International Standards and Advanced Facilities
According to Shailesh Joglekar, General Secretary of Dr Aabaji Thatte Sewa Aur Anusandhan Sanstha, the NHCI is designed to match international healthcare standards. "The proposed NHCI will be on par with international facilities and will be equipped with ultra-modern diagnostic and treatment equipment, highly skilled super-specialists and support staff. We will be creating a sanctuary of wellness and healthcare in Nagpur," Joglekar stated.
The hospital will adopt a multi-disciplinary approach and multi-modal therapy, with a strong emphasis on advanced diagnostics to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Expert Collaboration for Design and Management
The project involves collaboration with leading experts in architecture and engineering. Singapore-based HKS Asia Pacific Design Consulting PTE Ltd serves as the Concept Design Architects and Medical Planners, while M/s JJ Consultants from Mumbai are the principal architects. Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd has been appointed as the project management consultant, ensuring efficient execution and quality control.
This development is poised to transform healthcare accessibility in Central India, offering a blend of charity-driven affordability and corporate efficiency in a world-class medical environment.
