Lucknow gears up for a major healthcare event this Sunday. The UP promote pharma council will host the UP Health Tech Conclave 1.0 in the city. This three-day gathering aims to bring together key players from various sectors.
A Platform for Growth and Collaboration
Policymakers, global and domestic MedTech companies, startups, investors, regulators, and academic institutions will all participate. The conclave comes at a crucial time. Healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices are now priority growth areas for Uttar Pradesh.
The state is working towards achieving a one trillion-dollar economy. A central part of this strategy involves developing a 350-acre medical device park at Jewar. Pharma and biotech clusters will also be established there.
Uttar Pradesh's Strong MedTech Foundation
Officials highlight the state's existing strengths. UP already offers significant scale for MedTech manufacturing and research. The infrastructure includes over 88 medical colleges and more than 100 large government hospitals.
There are also 112 registered ethics committees and a pool of over 10,000 trained investigators. This robust setup positions UP as a natural destination for medical device manufacturing, testing, and clinical research.
Annual Flagship Event for the Sector
Additional chief secretary for medical education and health, Amit Kumar Ghosh, shared his views. He said the conclave is being designed as the state's annual flagship platform for the MedTech sector.
"It will showcase policy initiatives, infrastructure readiness, and investment opportunities," Ghosh explained. The event will also enable collaboration between industry, government, and academia.
Launch of UP-IMRAS Platform
A major highlight of the event will be the launch of a new system. The UP Integrated Medical Research Application System (UP-IMRAS) is a single-window, paperless platform.
This system aims to streamline clinical research approvals, feasibility assessments, and trial registrations. It represents a significant step towards modernizing research processes in the state.
The UP Health Tech Conclave 1.0 promises to be a landmark event. It seeks to foster innovation and drive economic growth in the vital healthcare and MedTech sectors.
