A young property businessman in Indore tragically lost his life on Monday after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest while pushing his two-wheeler with a flat tyre. The incident, captured on a nearby CCTV camera, has sent shockwaves through the community and highlights a worrying trend of heart attacks among the youth.
The Fatal Morning in Janata Quarters
The incident occurred around 11 am in the Janata Quarters area of Indore. Vineet Kuchekar, a 27-year-old resident, was on his way to get his scooter's punctured tyre repaired. According to Additional DCP Crime Branch Rajesh Dandotiya, Vineet began feeling unwell during the walk. He attempted to place his vehicle on its stand but collapsed before he could do so.
Bystanders immediately rushed to his aid and attempted to administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). However, their efforts were in vain. His family was alerted, and he was quickly taken to a nearby private hospital. Doctors at the hospital declared him dead upon arrival, confirming the cause as a sudden heart attack.
A Healthy Life Cut Short
In a heartbreaking statement, Vineet's younger brother, Mayank, revealed that the young man was completely healthy with no prior history of heart or lifestyle-related diseases. Vineet was a BTech graduate who had previously worked with a major company in Pune and later received a job offer from Chennai.
However, he made the decision last year to leave his corporate job and join his family's property business, working alongside his father. He is survived by his parents, Sanjay and Madhavi, and his younger brother Mayank.
A Disturbing Pattern of Cardiac Arrests
This tragic event is not isolated. It adds to a growing and concerning list of sudden cardiac deaths reported from the region in recent months. Just two months ago, a young woman in Khargone collapsed and died while performing Garba during Navratri celebrations. In another incident in Indore, a woman who had come to attend her cousin's wedding died on stage after collapsing during the sangeet ceremony.
Cardiologist Dr. Girish Kawthekar emphasized the critical need for proactive heart screening. "If there is an unexpected death suspected to be caused by cardiac arrest, especially in a family with a history of heart conditions, it is crucial for the family members to undergo a comprehensive cardiac screening without delay," he advised.
Dr. Kawthekar explained that such sudden incidents can be triggered by various underlying factors, including congenital cardiomyopathy, arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, or other hereditary heart conditions. He added a stark warning: "Young individuals are increasingly experiencing heart-related issues despite being active or exercising, and cases of sudden cardiac arrest are on the rise across the country."
The viral video of Vineet's collapse serves as a grim reminder of the silent and unpredictable nature of such health crises, urging a national conversation on preventive healthcare for the young population.
