BJP Leader to Showcase Bihar Healthcare at WHO Assembly

Patna: BJP state spokesperson Kuntal Krishna is set to present a research paper at the World Health Assembly in Geneva, where he will also highlight the transformative progress achieved in Bihar’s healthcare sector over the last two decades. The event is being organized by the global healthcare institution Health Innovation Organisation from May 18 to 24.

Theme of Address: Connecting the Unconnected

The theme of Kuntal’s address will be ‘Connecting the Unconnected’, focusing on bringing underserved and excluded communities into the mainstream of healthcare access. The healthcare facilities made available to Bihar’s 140 million people under the NDA government stand as a significant example of inclusive governance and public health expansion, Kuntal said before leaving for Geneva on Monday.

Bihar's Healthcare Achievements

“Over the past two decades, Bihar has made remarkable achievements in strengthening and expanding healthcare infrastructure and services at the government level,” he said. The state has seen improvements in primary health centers, hospitals, and access to essential medicines, particularly in rural areas.

Global Deliberations on Healthcare Challenges

The World Health Assembly in Geneva will also host extensive deliberations among delegates from 165 countries on the challenges confronting the healthcare sector and the roadmap for future improvements. Discussions will particularly focus on using artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies to ensure accessible and efficient healthcare delivery for every individual.

Kuntal Krishna’s participation underscores the NDA government’s commitment to showcasing Bihar’s healthcare model on a global platform. The event is expected to foster international collaboration and knowledge sharing.
