Free Eye Check-Up, Blood Donation Camp at Dum Dum Metro on Labour Day

On the occasion of International Labour Day, a free eye check-up camp along with a blood donation drive was organized at Dum Dum Metro Station. The initiative was undertaken by the Metro Railway Men's Union under the leadership of Shri Sujit Ghosh, who also participated as a blood donor. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from railway employees, Metro passengers, and members of the general public.

Free Eye Check-Up Services

Nearly 96 people availed the free eye check-up services during the camp. The medical team provided comprehensive eye examinations, including vision tests and screenings for common eye conditions. Participants appreciated the initiative, which aimed to promote eye health awareness among commuters and staff.

Blood Donation Drive

The blood donation drive also received an encouraging response, with 50 volunteers donating blood. Senior railway officials, including Shri S. S. Kannan, Secretary to the General Manager and Chief Public Relations Officer, and Shri Dipto Saha, Deputy Chief Operations Manager (O&M), were among the donors. Several Metro commuters also came forward to contribute to the initiative, demonstrating a strong sense of community service.

Leadership and Participation

Shri Sujit Ghosh, leader of the Metro Railway Men's Union, emphasized the importance of such health initiatives on Labour Day. He stated that the union is committed to organizing similar events in the future to benefit both employees and the public. The camp not only provided essential health services but also fostered a spirit of solidarity and social responsibility among all participants.
