Health Camp in Varanasi to Combat Nautapa Heat

In Varanasi, with the onset of Nautapa and rising temperatures, the health department organized a special health camp under the joint aegis of Ramna health centre and the AYUSH department. A large number of villagers participated, availing health check-ups, medical consultations, and free medicines.

Health Check-ups and Free Medicines

Around 250 villagers underwent blood pressure, blood sugar, and general health examinations. Medicines were distributed free of cost based on medical requirements.

Awareness on Heat Wave Precautions

Government medical officer Dr. Shivshakti Prasad Dwivedi sensitized villagers about protection from heat waves, emphasizing adequate water intake, regular consumption of ORS solution, avoiding excessive sunlight, and special care for children and the elderly. He stressed that proper health precautions during Nautapa are essential to prevent heat stroke and dehydration.

AYUSH Department's Role

The AYUSH department provided information on traditional and natural remedies for relief from extreme heat and overall health protection. People were made aware of the importance of clean drinking water and a balanced diet.
