Rajasthan Bans 16 Unsafe Food Items, Suspends 13 Licences

The state health department of Rajasthan has imposed a ban on the distribution, sale, and display of 16 unsafe packaged food products. Additionally, licences of 13 food firms have been suspended following inspections conducted under the 'Shuddh Aahar Milawat Par Waar' campaign.

Intensive Inspections Across Districts

Health and medical education principal secretary Gayatri Rathore stated that intensive inspections were carried out in May and June 2026 across multiple districts including Alwar, Jaipur, Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Jodhpur, Jalore, Rajsamand, Jhunjhunu, Bikaner, and others. Laboratory tests revealed that several packaged food items, even those from reputed brands, were unsafe for consumption.

List of Banned Products

Food commissioner T Shubhamangala provided a detailed list of banned products. These include Madhu Saras Ghee and Dairy Anmol Ghee by Avery Dairy Traders, Delhi; Dairy Bright Ghee by Krishna Food Products, Delhi; Shagun Brand Mixture All In One Namkeen by Bikaner Food Products; Prema Brand Ghee by Mahadev Food Products, Hisar; Vandhu Brand Buffalo Ghee and Cow Ghee by Leo Dry Fruits and Spices Trading Ltd, Navi Mumbai; Tansen Brand Pan Masala by Trimurti Fragrance Pvt Ltd, Delhi; Topper Brand Milk Fat by Ajay Food Products, Jodhpur; Marwar Ki Shaan-Saras Brand Ghee by Jai Maa Ashapuri, Jalore; Shri Aahar Brand Ghee by Mohit Jain, Jodhpur; Shubh Brand Ghee by Shri Veer Milk Products Honey Industry, Surat; Dhenushri Brand Ghee by Dhenushri Dairy Products, Jodhpur; and Solanki Mishthan Bhandar Brand Namkeen, Jodhpur.

Licences Suspended for Unsafe Loose Food Samples

Licences were suspended after loose food samples were found to be unsafe. The affected units are involved in selling or manufacturing items such as paneer, ice candy, pista cutting, used cooking oil, marinated chicken, bajra, saunf, mawa, and ghee. These units are located in Alwar, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Rajsamand, Dholpur, and Hanumangarh.

The crackdown underscores the government's commitment to ensuring food safety and protecting public health. Consumers are advised to check for quality certifications when purchasing packaged food items.
