Gujarat to Host State-Level International Yoga Day Celebrations on June 21
Gujarat Yoga Day: 1.25 Crore Participants at 24,000 Venues

The state-level celebrations of the 12th International Day of Yoga will be held at Mansa in Gandhinagar district on June 21, the Gujarat government announced on Thursday. As part of the observance, yoga sessions will be conducted at 24,000 locations across the state, with an estimated 1.25 crore participants.

Key Participants and Theme

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will participate in a yoga day event in Ahmedabad, according to Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, who also holds the portfolio of cultural activities. Sanghavi stated that this year's theme is 'Yoga for Healthy Aging'.

Extensive Reach

The minister elaborated that 24,000 programmes have been organized in cities, towns, villages, iconic locations, colleges, schools, corporate offices, industries, and gardens to mark the occasion. These events are expected to involve 1.25 crore citizens on June 21.

At the main event in Mansa taluka, more than 4,000 people will join the Chief Minister and other dignitaries. Additionally, mass yoga events will be held at all municipal corporations, municipalities, and other venues across Gujarat.

Global Recognition of Yoga

Sanghavi highlighted that yoga and Indian culture are spreading rapidly worldwide. The demand for Indian yoga instructors has surged both domestically and internationally, with highly attractive salaries being offered. He also commended the Gujarat State Yoga Board for organizing workshops throughout the state to popularize yoga among the populace.
