Kolkata housing complexes are gearing up to celebrate International Yoga Day with special sessions planned for residents. Manoj Gupta, a member of South City Apartments, shared details about their event. We are planning a yoga session during the morning in our banquet hall where participants are expected to bring their own yoga mats, he said. He added that they have a dedicated yoga instructor and a yoga room, and usually people attend in batches for training sessions. However, the event will be conducted in the banquet hall during the morning hours.
Silver Spring's Two-Pronged Celebration
Ashok Baid, a board member and resident of Silver Spring, explained that their complex has planned a two-pronged celebration this year. Residents will join the Prime Minister-led event at Red Road in the morning, while a separate yoga session for children will be held at the community hall in the evening. It is basically a promotion of yoga, Baid said. It will encourage people to do yoga; it is good for health and will keep you fit. He noted that it is a Prime Minister sponsored program, so it has that much enthusiasm. But basically, it is a regular thing we should do.
Encouraging Health and Wellness
The sessions aim to promote yoga as a regular practice for health and fitness. Residents are enthusiastic about participating, with many viewing it as an opportunity to embrace a healthier lifestyle. The events underscore the community's commitment to wellness and the widespread appeal of yoga across age groups.
