Happy Streets Finale: Bengaluru's RR Nagar Hosts Last Community Carnival on Dec 28
Bengaluru's Happy Streets Final Edition in RR Nagar on Dec 28

Bengaluru's beloved community initiative, The Times of India's Happy Streets, is set for a grand yet bittersweet finale. The event returns to Rajarajeshwari Nagar for one last celebration in the neighborhood, marking also the closing chapter for the year. This final edition promises to transform a city street into a vibrant hub of health, culture, and collective joy.

A Morning Reclaimed for the Community

On Sunday, December 28, the 12th Cross Road near Mount Carmel English School will shed its usual traffic for a more lively purpose. From 6:30 am to 9:30 am, this stretch will become a pedestrian-only zone, offering residents a precious few hours dedicated purely to wellness and community connection. This traffic-free concept has been the hallmark of Happy Streets, allowing public spaces to be reclaimed for people, not vehicles.

A Curated Blend of Wellness and Performance

The on-stage programming is meticulously designed to reflect the event's energetic spirit. The morning will commence with calming sessions of yoga and pranayama led by Sarvebhavanthu Sukhinah Yoga, setting a serene tone. The pace will then quicken with high-intensity workouts and energetic fitness dance sessions conducted by Swingers Dance Inc.

Adding a unique traditional element, NeeRav Arts Village will demonstrate mudgar skills, showcasing the strength and discipline of this ancient Indian practice. The cultural tapestry will be further enriched by a vibrant dance performance from the MDA Mudras Dance Academy and a classical presentation by the Shivathi Dance Academy.

For those inclined towards martial arts, the Arvind Universe Karate Training School will deliver a powerful on-stage karate demonstration. Throughout the event, Bhima Jewellers, the presenter of Happy Streets, will engage the audience with interactive segments like a crowd quiz, giveaways, and a lucky draw.

A Fond Farewell and a Celebration of Shared Spaces

As Happy Streets concludes its annual run and bids adieu to the RR Nagar locality, it extends a heartfelt invitation to all residents. This final gathering is more than just an event; it's a celebration of the joy found in shared public spaces, the strength of community spirit, and the creation of unforgettable Sunday morning memories. It's a chance to come together, participate, and celebrate the simple pleasure of a car-free street buzzing with human activity.

The initiative stands as a testament to how urban areas can temporarily transform to foster health, cultural exchange, and neighborhood bonding. This last edition in Rajarajeshwari Nagar is poised to be a fitting and memorable send-off for the year's Happy Streets program.
