Celebrated designer Manish Tripathi has described the opportunity to design the sacred attire for the deity of Lord Ram in Ayodhya as an immense blessing. The special garments will be adorned during the 'Pratishtha Dwadashi' celebrations at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra on Wednesday, December 31.
A Sacred Commission and Design Philosophy
In an exclusive conversation with ANI, Tripathi expressed profound reverence for the task. He stated that being involved in this ancient tradition, whether as a witness or a participant, is a matter of great good fortune. The designer emphasized that the clothes created for the deity are deeply rooted in Indian heritage.
The attire is consistently indigenous, showcasing the finest of Indian crafts and textiles. For momentous occasions like the Pratishtha Dwadashi, which also marks the second anniversary of the Ram Mandir's Pran Pratishtha, the garments are elevated with intricate gold embroidery and traditional Vaishnav symbols.
High-Profile Attendance and Ritual Observances
The significance of the day is further underscored by the confirmed attendance of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Singh announced his visit via a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating his anticipation for visiting the sacred site and participating in the celebrations.
The event's planning was previously disclosed by Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, on December 14. Rai had noted that the Defence Minister's acceptance of the invitation might also lead to the presence of the Chief Minister.
Preceding the main event, a series of elaborate rituals have been conducted at the temple. On the second day of the Patotsav celebrations, sacred Yajna ceremonies featured rites like Tattva Kalash, Tattva Homa, Manyu Sukta Homa, and Ram Taraka Mantra Homa. A daily highlight has been the paalki (palanquin) procession, where the deity is carried in a circumambulation of the temple premises three times, a practice continuing throughout the ritual period.
Spiritual Significance and Guidance
All ceremonies are being carried out under the guidance of Pujya Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Ji Maharaj. According to the presiding acharyas, these Vedic rituals serve a profound purpose: to harmonize the fundamental elements of creation and to remove adharma (unrighteousness), obstacles, and unrest from the environment.
The convergence of divine craftsmanship, high-level national participation, and ancient Vedic practices marks December 31 as a day of deep spiritual and cultural resonance in Ayodhya.
