Varanasi's Kashi Vishwanath Dham Celebrates Republic Day with Patriotic Ceremonies
In a significant initiative, a flag hoisting ceremony was organized at the revered Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi on Republic Day, Monday. The event took place at Neelkanth Bhavan within the temple premises, drawing attendance from key dignitaries and officials.
Dignitaries and Officials in Attendance
The ceremony was graced by prominent figures including Vishwa Bhushan, the chief executive officer of the KV Trust, along with deputy district magistrate Pawan Prakash, deputy collector Shambhu Sharan, and Naib Tehsildar Mini L Shekhar, among others. Their presence underscored the importance of the occasion, blending spiritual and administrative reverence for the nation.
Innovative Rituals and New Additions
Following the traditional flag hoisting, the temple administration continued an innovation introduced over the past two years: the worship of Bharat Mata at her statue located inside the Dham. This year, inspired by national leadership, a new element was incorporated—a formal flag salutation ceremony at the site of the national flag installed near the Bharat Mata statue.
The proceedings included floral tributes offered amid the resonant sounds of damru playing and swastivaachan chants by shastris. This was followed by an aarti dedicated to both Bharat Mata and the national flag, creating a harmonious blend of devotion and patriotism.
Community Participation and Resolutions
Officers, staff members, and members of the public associated with the temple trust actively participated in the programme. Together, they offered prayers for the nation's prosperity and peace, fostering a sense of unity and collective responsibility.
A seminar was also organized as part of the event, where participants shared their thoughts on national unity and the responsibilities of citizens. During this session, officers and employees resolved to serve the nation with dedication and honesty in their respective roles. They pledged to contribute continuously to national progress and public welfare, seeking the blessings of Baba Shri Kashi Vishwanath.
Special Decorations and Offerings
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the temple premises were adorned with tricolour-themed decorations, symbolizing national pride. During the Rudrabhishek performed on Monday, offerings to Avimukteshwar Mahadev were made with the national flag, further integrating patriotic elements into the spiritual rituals.
This celebration at Kashi Vishwanath Dham not only honored Republic Day but also reinforced the temple's role as a center for cultural and national unity, inspiring all attendees to uphold the values of the nation in their daily lives.
