Akash Saroj, a 24-year-old delivery agent, has garnered significant admiration online for his humble yet impactful deeds. Despite not possessing vast financial resources and dedicating long hours on the road to support his family, he exhibits remarkable generosity. He allocates a portion of his earnings to purchase food for animals and remains vigilant during his delivery routes to assist people in distress.
From feeding a hungry rickshaw puller and arranging repairs for his broken vehicle to distributing blankets to those sleeping on footpaths, Akash's thoughtful actions prompt reflection on how he manages such benevolence amid limited income and family obligations. "Life as a delivery agent is extremely tough. There is constant pressure, and hardly any time to eat or rest. Calls keep coming in continuously, and work takes priority over everything else because survival depends on it," Akash explains.

So, where does he source the funds to help others? "I try to manage as much as I can from whatever I earn. While I keep posting on social media, I do not earn anything from there. Most collaboration offers that come to me are related to gambling or betting apps, which I do not want to promote. I do not want to misguide people for money," he states firmly, highlighting his ethical stance.
A Father's Legacy of Compassion
Akash attributes his kindness to his father, a laborer who passed away in 2024 after a brief illness. "My father worked as a laborer and had gone to Vijayawada for work. One night, I spoke to him as usual. The next morning, I received a message from one of his friends saying that his condition had suddenly worsened and that I should come immediately," he recalls.
Facing immense challenges, including language barriers and financial constraints in Vijayawada, Akash borrowed money to fly there. Despite his efforts, the hospital provided minimal treatment. "The doctors told me nothing more could be done. I was completely helpless," he shares. In a desperate move, he borrowed ₹2.5 lakh to arrange a train ambulance with medical facilities to bring his father to Delhi, but tragically, his father passed away en route near Nagpur.
Lessons from Loss and a Renewed Purpose
The loss of his father, whom he describes as his biggest support system, made life even more arduous. "A father is the biggest support system in a family. Losing him feels like a protective canopy being lifted from over your head," Akash reflects. He had aspired to become a Bollywood choreographer, a dream his father supported, but his sudden death shattered those plans.
However, this painful experience imparted a lifelong lesson. "I realized that kindness is what is so much missing from this world. I learned the meaning of charity from my father. He was a kind and compassionate man. Despite being poor, he always helped others in whatever way he could," Akash emphasizes, carrying forward his father's legacy.
