Senior officials in Bihar's East Champaran district conducted a crucial inspection ahead of a landmark religious event scheduled for next week. District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal and Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat visited the construction site of the Virat Ramayan Mandir in Kaithwaliya, under Kalyanpur block, to review arrangements.
Security and Logistics Take Center Stage
The inspection focused on the elaborate preparations for the installation ceremony of what is being hailed as the world's largest Shiva lingam on January 17. Both the DM and SP issued detailed instructions concerning security protocols, crowd management strategies, and traffic flow plans. With a significant influx of devotees, VIPs, ministers, political leaders, and saints from across the country anticipated, the district administration has been placed on high alert.
District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal emphasized that administrative preparations for this historic event have already been intensified. He directed all concerned officials to ensure every necessary measure is firmly in place to facilitate a smooth and secure ceremony.
Monumental Scale of the Event
Sayan Kunal, secretary of the Patna Hanuman Mandir, provided specific details about the sacred icon. The monumental Shiva lingam weighs 210 tonnes and was meticulously carved from stone in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. Its installation will be performed with Vedic mantra chants and the sprinkling of holy water collected from various rivers across India.
Kunal confirmed that the Governor, Chief Minister, other ministers, and numerous VIPs, including revered saints, have received invitations from the temple committee for the ceremony. He also shared the broader vision for the site, noting that the construction of the world's largest temple complex is projected to be complete by 2030.
Legacy and Location of the Grand Temple
The ambitious project was initiated by Sayan Kunal's late father, Kishor Kunal, the former secretary of Patna Hanuman Mandir. The temple is rising on a sprawling 125-acre plot near Kesariya, a location already famous for housing the world's largest Buddhist stupa, adding another layer of spiritual significance to the region.
Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat, during the inspection, tasked police officers with maintaining strict vigilance. His orders covered all critical aspects of public safety, including crowd control, traffic management, parking facilities, and overarching security for the major gathering expected on January 17.
