Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Saturday that the Indian Navy successfully confined the entire Pakistan Navy to its ports during Operation Sindoor. The operation was launched on May 7, 2025, to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack, with Indian forces conducting precision strikes on multiple terror infrastructure targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Operation Sindoor: A Strategic Success
Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Singh highlighted the effectiveness of the naval blockade, which prevented any Pakistani naval vessels from venturing out during the critical phase of the operation. He emphasized that this demonstrated India's maritime superiority and strategic planning.
Background of the Operation
Operation Sindoor was initiated following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of several Indian civilians and security personnel. The Indian government vowed a strong response, leading to coordinated strikes by the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The naval component played a crucial role in ensuring no external interference or retaliation from Pakistan's maritime forces.
Singh further noted that the operation was executed with precision, minimizing collateral damage while achieving its objectives. The confinement of the Pakistan Navy to its ports was a key tactical achievement, showcasing India's ability to project power and protect its national interests.
The Defence Minister also praised the bravery and professionalism of the Indian Navy personnel involved in the operation. He reiterated India's commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region while taking decisive action against terrorism.
