Union Minister Naidu to Virtually Launch New Passenger Facilities at Airports Across India
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu is set to e-inaugurate a series of new passenger facilities at airports nationwide this Friday, with Surat International Airport among the key locations. Officials confirmed that the virtual ceremony will mark the introduction of several enhancements designed to improve traveler convenience and the overall airport experience.
Key Facilities to Be Unveiled at Surat Airport
During an official program at Coimbatore Airport, Minister Naidu will remotely inaugurate multiple facilities at Surat International Airport. These include:
- Udan Yatri Cafe: A new dining option offering clean, nutritious, and quality food and beverages at affordable rates for common passengers.
- Digi Yatra Facility: A formal launch enabling passengers to access terminals through a quick, secure, and paperless face-recognition system.
- Children's Play Area: A dedicated space to cater to families traveling with young children.
- Avsar Outlet: Part of the 'One Airport One Product' initiative, providing a platform for self-help groups to showcase and sell special local products.
- Modern WiFi Services: Robust, free, and uninterrupted internet connectivity across the airport premises.
Enhancing Passenger Experience and Inclusivity
Surat Airport Director Anand Narayan Sharma emphasized that these five passenger-centric facilities are aimed at boosting convenience, easing travel, and improving the overall passenger experience. "The Udan Yatri Cafe is an important step towards making air travel more accessible and inclusive," he stated, highlighting its role in providing affordable dining options.
Sharma added that the Avsar outlet will help encourage and empower grassroots enterprises by supporting local products. The Digi Yatra facility is expected to streamline airport access, while the new WiFi services will be particularly beneficial for business travelers, students, and passengers reliant on digital services.
