CM Yogi Adityanath Launches Major Investment Drive in Singapore and Japan
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to embark on a significant five-day international tour to Singapore and Japan, aiming to bolster economic and cultural ties while actively seeking substantial investment for the state. The tour, scheduled to commence on February 22, will see the CM accompanied by senior government officials and representatives from Invest UP, the state's investment promotion agency.
Strategic Road Shows and Diaspora Engagement Planned
Government sources have confirmed that comprehensive road shows will be organized in both Singapore and Japan. During these events, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will engage directly with the Indian diaspora, with a particular focus on individuals hailing from Uttar Pradesh. This initiative is designed to foster stronger connections and encourage contributions from the global UP community towards the state's development.
In Singapore, the agenda includes high-level meetings focused on enhancing UP-Singapore partnerships. Key discussion areas will encompass urban development, smart city projects, advanced water management systems, and skills collaboration programs. These talks aim to leverage Singapore's expertise in infrastructure and technology to benefit Uttar Pradesh's growth trajectory.
Japan Visit to Feature Infrastructure Showcase and Corporate Dialogues
During the Japan leg of the tour, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit prominent locations including Yamanashi, Osaka, and Kyoto, where he will hold discussions with senior Japanese government officials. A highlight of the visit will be the Japan–Uttar Pradesh Partnership Conference, dedicated to manufacturing, mobility, and technology.
This conference will facilitate interactions with top Japanese corporations operating in critical sectors such as electric vehicles (EV), electronics, rail systems, engineering, chemicals, and logistics. Additionally, the CM will gain firsthand experience of Japan's world-class infrastructure by observing the Maglev train, which operates at speeds exceeding 600 kmph, offering insights into advanced transportation solutions.
Proposed Japan City and Singapore City Development Zones
In a related development, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has submitted a proposal to the state government for the creation of dedicated Japan City and Singapore City zones. The Authority has already identified suitable land within its jurisdiction for these projects.
During his visits, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to formally invite investment proposals for these specialized zones, aiming to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and foster industrial clusters that replicate best practices from Japan and Singapore. This move aligns with UP's broader strategy to enhance its manufacturing and technological capabilities through international collaborations.
The tour underscores Uttar Pradesh's proactive approach under CM Yogi Adityanath's leadership to position the state as a premier investment destination, leveraging global partnerships to drive economic growth and infrastructure development.
