ABA President Gurpreet Singh Panesar announced on Thursday that the project is designed to deliver modern chamber facilities, enhanced infrastructure, and adequate parking space, with particular benefits for young lawyers. The initiative aims to alleviate space constraints and improve working conditions for advocates.

Timeline and Impact

Panesar stated that demolition work at the site is scheduled to commence this week, marking the first phase of what he described as one of the most significant infrastructure projects for the legal community in Amritsar. The project will also facilitate the planned expansion of the Judicial Court Complex, addressing growing caseloads and space requirements.

Describing the development as a historic milestone, Panesar credited the achievement to the persistent efforts of the association’s executive body. He reiterated the ABA's commitment to ensuring the timely completion of the project and providing advocates with a state-of-the-art chambers complex equipped with modern amenities.

Community and Infrastructure Upgrades

The expansion is expected to significantly improve the working environment for lawyers, who have long faced inadequate facilities. The multi-level chambers complex will offer dedicated spaces for legal professionals, reducing overcrowding and enhancing productivity. Additionally, improved parking facilities will address a major concern for daily commuters to the court complex.

According to Panesar, the project underscores the Bar Association's dedication to advancing the legal profession in Amritsar. The collaboration between the judiciary, public works department, and bar representatives highlights a coordinated effort to modernize judicial infrastructure.
