CAIT Launches ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign for I-Day

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has announced a nationwide campaign titled ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Dukaan Tiranga,’ calling upon traders across the country to display the national flag at their homes, shops, and marketplaces as part of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. The initiative was unveiled at the conclusion of CAIT’s two-day National Traders Conference held in New Delhi.

Decision at National Traders Conference

More than 200 senior trade leaders from various parts of India participated in the conference. The gathering deliberated on key issues affecting the trading community and finalized preparations for the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav (BVM), a major trade exhibition scheduled to take place at Bharat Mandapam from August 12 to 15. The conference resolved to dedicate this year’s BVM to the spirit of India’s independence and the ethos of self-reliance.

Campaign Details and Activities

As part of the campaign, CAIT will organize ‘Tiranga Yatras’ in markets across the country. These processions will feature tableaux showcasing India’s rich culture, heritage, and patriotic themes. Market associations and trade bodies have been directed to decorate commercial areas with the Tricolour and encourage individual traders to display the national flag at their establishments. The organizers stated that Bharat Mandapam, the venue for BVM, would be adorned with the Tricolour to promote patriotism and the message of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ among traders, entrepreneurs, investors, and visitors from India and abroad.

Quotes from CAIT Leadership

CAIT Secretary General and BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal emphasized the significance of the campaign, stating, “The campaign symbolises the trading community’s respect and commitment towards the nation.” He added that traders across the country would celebrate Independence Day through Tiranga Yatras, cultural programmes, patriotic events, and large-scale display of the national flag in markets.

Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026

Khandelwal also provided details about the upcoming Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav, describing it as one of India’s largest multi-sector trade exhibitions. The event will bring together startups, MSMEs, handicrafts, agriculture, food processing, technology, and manufacturing sectors. Its primary objectives include promoting Indian products globally, generating new business opportunities, boosting exports, and strengthening India’s position as a global manufacturing and trading hub.

Appeal for Participation

In an appeal to trade organisations and market associations, Khandelwal urged widespread participation in the campaign. He noted that the initiative would help reinforce national unity, self-reliance, and support for indigenous products, while encouraging broader public involvement in Independence Day festivities. The campaign is expected to create a visible wave of patriotism across the country’s commercial hubs.

Background of the Conference

The National Traders Conference served as a platform for trade leaders to discuss pressing issues such as regulatory challenges, digitalization of trade, and the need for unified market policies. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Dukaan Tiranga’ campaign emerged as a key outcome, reflecting the trading community’s proactive role in nation-building and celebration of national pride.
