Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has announced a major push for permanent anganwadi infrastructure in the Naxal-free districts of Bastar region. The initiative will see 506 anganwadi centres that currently lack buildings receive permanent structures through the convergence of funds from the Women and Child Development Department and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

The state government has decided to pool resources from both departments to ensure that every anganwadi centre in the region has a proper building.
