Fund Crunch Delays Development Projects
Inadequate fund allocation has severely impacted projects under the Bangalore Development Authority's (BADB) jurisdiction across 14 districts in Karnataka. The board oversees development in 70 assembly constituencies spread over 57 taluks, but a shortfall in funds has brought many initiatives to a standstill.

The BADB is responsible for planning and executing infrastructure projects in these regions, including roads, water supply, and public amenities. However, without sufficient financial resources, completion timelines have been pushed back indefinitely.
According to sources, the board received only a fraction of the requested budget for the current fiscal year, leading to a halt in new project approvals and delays in ongoing works.

The affected constituencies span both rural and urban areas, where residents have been waiting for basic amenities. Local representatives have raised concerns, urging the state government to release additional funds urgently.
"The delay is causing inconvenience to thousands of people," said a district official, requesting anonymity. "We hope the government prioritizes these projects in the next budget session."
Way Forward
The BADB has submitted a revised proposal to the state government, highlighting the need for an immediate infusion of Rs 500 crore to resume work. Officials are hopeful that the funds will be sanctioned soon to prevent further setbacks.
