Shimla, July 9: Prof Mahavir Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), chaired a high-level review meeting on Thursday to assess the progress of development projects under RUSA-I, RUSA-II, and PM-USHA (MERU). He directed officials to prepare and submit a comprehensive Fund Requirement Plan under PM-USHA (MERU) to the state government at the earliest.
Clearance of Pending Bills and Project Timelines
Prof Singh also instructed that all pending bills under RUSA-II be cleared within the next two months to avoid hindrances to development works. He emphasised that the university’s primary objective is the timely completion of all sanctioned projects to provide world-class academic and research infrastructure to students and researchers.
“The University’s highest priority is to ensure timely, transparent and effective utilisation of funds provided by the central and state governments,” the VC stated.
State Government’s Commitment
Sunita Singh, Director of Higher Education and State Project Director (RUSA PM-USHA), assured full cooperation from the state government. She said the government is committed to the timely implementation of all sanctioned projects to strengthen higher education infrastructure across Himachal Pradesh, and that regular monitoring will accelerate execution.
Detailed Project Overview
Gopal Sanghaik, State Project Officer (RUSA), presented a detailed overview of project progress, expenditure incurred, and the future roadmap. He stressed the importance of timely financial management and efficient utilisation of funds.
Recognition for Timely Result Declaration
The VC also lauded faculty members of the university and its affiliated colleges for declaring final examination results of B.A., B.Com, and B.Sc programmes in record time. He noted that timely declaration of results will greatly benefit students seeking admission to higher studies and employment opportunities.
