KDA Demolishes Illegal Constructions on 8.5 Bigha Land

In a major campaign against illegal construction and unauthorized plotting, the Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) on Monday demolished illegal constructions spread across approximately 8.5 bigha of land. The KDA's enforcement team razed a guest house that was being constructed at Bairi Akbarpur without having its layout map sanctioned.

Details of the Demolition Drive

The enforcement team, led by Ravi Pratap Singh, Special Officer (Enforcement) Zone-1 B and a Sub-Divisional Magistrate, carried out the demolition of the under-construction guest house. The structure was being raised on three bigha of land by Hari Mohan Gupta and others. The team also identified illegal plotting on 9.5 bigha of land, and action against it is scheduled to take place on May 15.

Identification of Illegal Plotting

Apart from the guest house, the enforcement team identified around 5.5 bigha of land in the Katri area, comprising five plots, where illegal plotting was being carried out by Ram Babu, Monu Yadav, and others. The KDA team promptly demolished the illegal constructions in that area as well.

Appeal to Citizens

Meanwhile, the KDA has made an appeal to citizens to seek details from the KDA about the layout before purchasing any plot within the KDA limit. This step aims to prevent citizens from falling prey to unauthorized and illegal real estate activities.

Background and Future Actions

The KDA has been actively conducting such drives to curb illegal constructions and unauthorized plotting in and around Kanpur. The authority has warned that strict action will be taken against those found violating building norms and land use regulations. The KDA further stated that more such operations will be carried out in the future to ensure compliance with the law.

The demolition drive is part of a broader initiative to streamline urban development and maintain legal standards in construction and land allocation. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious or illegal construction activities to the KDA for prompt action.
