Kesari Singh Appointed RPSC Chairman

The Rajasthan government on Friday late evening gave Lt Col (retired) Kesari Singh additional charge as chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). This follows the retirement of former chairman and ex-DGP Utkal Ranjan Sahoo.

Singh, currently serving as an RPSC member in Ajmer, will discharge the duties of chairman in addition to his existing role, according to an order issued by the personnel department.

In separate notifications, the government also appointed Santosh Anand and Deepak Kumar Sharma as new members of the commission. Their appointments will take effect from the date they assume office.

Sharma retired in June 2025 as professor of zoology in the state government’s college education department. He has served as state president of the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh’s Rajasthan Higher Education wing and is currently its state organisation secretary. A long-time RSS swayamsevak, Sharma has held several responsibilities in the organisation. He has also served as assistant director in the College Education Commissionerate, state coordinator of the Yuva Kaushal Vikas Prakoshth, and member of the Board of Management and Academic Council of several universities.

Anand is principal of MLV Government College, Bhilwara, and has been posted in the district for a considerable period. He has had a long association with the RSS and currently heads Vidya Bharati’s Chittaur Prant unit. An RSS swayamsevak since childhood, Anand has held responsibilities in the organisation’s public relations department and has also been associated with ABVP in different roles.

Background and Impact

The appointment of Singh as interim chairman ensures continuity in the commission's functioning. The addition of two new members, both with backgrounds in education and RSS affiliations, reflects the government's broader personnel strategy for the recruitment body.
