Minister Orders Ground Report on Water Schemes
Karnataka Minister M B Patil has directed officials to submit a ground report on the Multi-Village Drinking Water Scheme and the Jal Jeevan Mission within 30 days. The order came during a district disaster management meeting chaired by Patil at the Zilla Panchayat in the city on Tuesday.
MLAs Raise Concerns Over Water Supply
Patil stated that several MLAs had complained that water from multi-village drinking water schemes was not reaching all intended villages. He emphasized the need for a thorough assessment to ensure the schemes deliver as planned.
Impact and Next Steps
The report will evaluate the current status of water supply and identify gaps in implementation. Patil instructed officials to prioritize resolving issues to meet the goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to provide tap water to every rural household. The 30-day deadline is intended to expedite corrective measures.
