Nagpur Braces for Planned Power Interruptions on Wednesday for Essential Maintenance
The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has officially scheduled a series of power cuts across numerous areas of Nagpur on Wednesday, April 8. This proactive measure is part of a comprehensive maintenance and repair initiative designed to prevent potential technical failures and guarantee an uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the demanding summer season.
Detailed Schedule of Power Outages Across City Divisions
According to MSEDCL officials, the power supply will be intentionally disrupted in several localities under different divisions to facilitate the necessary work. The following is a detailed breakdown of the affected areas and their respective outage timings:
Congress Nagar Division Outages
- 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM: Nelco Society, Sumit Nagar, Adhyapak Layout, Azad Hind Nagar, Takli Sim Water Tank area, and LIG-MIG Colony.
- 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM: Jai Badrinath Society, Raut Wadi, Lokseva Nagar, Manish Layout, Gayatri Nagar, Parsodi, and Hanuman Mandir areas.
- 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM: Swavalambi Nagar and Deendayal Nagar.
- 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM: Jaiprakash Nagar, Sita Nagar, and Mahalaxmi Mandir areas.
- 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM: Mahajan Market and Ayurvedic Market.
- 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM: Eternity Mall, VIP Road, Kachipura, and Central Mall.
Mahal Division Power Interruptions
- 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM: Omkar Nagar, Jaywant Nagar, Sai Nagar, and Gajanan Nagar.
- 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM: Ayodhya Nagar, Uday Nagar, and Sai Mandir areas.
- 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM: Medical Square, Rambagh Colony, Jattarodi, and TB Ward areas.
Butibori Division Scheduled Cuts
- 7:00 AM to 12:00 Noon: Kachimet, Shanti Nagar, and Sant Jagnade Nagar.
- 10:00 AM Onward: Supply to industrial units in the MIDC area, including major facilities like Reliance Cement and Ishan Casting, will also be shut down.

Discom officials have clarified that the scheduled maintenance work encompasses critical tasks such as transformer servicing, the installation of new electrical equipment, and the pruning of tree branches that may interfere with power lines. MSEDCL has earnestly appealed to the citizens of Nagpur for their cooperation and understanding during these temporary disruptions.
