Rewari District Administration Forms Technical Unit to Address Water Supply Concerns

With the summer season fast approaching, the district administration of Rewari, in collaboration with the Department of Public Health and Engineering, is proactively preparing to ensure an adequate and reliable supply of drinking water for all residents. In a strategic move to mitigate potential shortages, a district technical unit has been officially constituted to resolve issues related to drinking water supply in rural areas on a priority basis.

Key Initiatives and Directives from Deputy Commissioner

While chairing a meeting of the District Water and Sewerage Mission, Rewari Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abhishek Meena emphasized the urgency of the situation. "Alternative arrangements should also be made for the supply of drinking water so that residents do not face shortages during the summer months," he stated. The DC directed department officials to implement comprehensive water supply arrangements across all villages in the district, including critical facilities such as government schools, colleges, hospitals, anganwadi centers, and bus stands.

To ensure water quality, Meena instructed officials to regularly collect and test samples of drinking water. "If any water quality issue arises in any area, it should be addressed on priority," he added, highlighting the importance of maintenance and cleanliness at waterworks sites.

Grievance Redressal and Public Awareness Efforts

In a bid to enhance public engagement and responsiveness, the department has launched a grievance redressal helpline number (18001805678). This initiative allows residents to register water-related complaints directly, facilitating quicker resolutions. Additionally, Executive Engineer Vinay Chauhan announced that the department is running an awareness campaign on water conservation until March 22 under the Jal Mahotsav initiative, aimed at promoting sustainable water usage practices among the community.

The meeting saw the presence of key officials, including DDPO HP Bansal, BDPO Sanjay Singh, SDO Vinod Bagdi, and District Coordinator Yogender, underscoring the collaborative effort to tackle water supply challenges effectively.
