The most recent fire reignited at the site on April 6, with flames erupting in a section where stocks of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) were stored. Officials attributed this to high ambient temperatures and shifting wind directions. Smoke spread towards the north-east, though timely intervention helped contain the situation.

- More than 150 truckloads of soil to smother flames
- Over 12 fire engines and water bowsers
- More than 50 firefighters
