Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Water Authority has announced a complete disruption of water supply in several wards of the city due to the installation of a new transformer and urgent maintenance work at the Aruvikkara water treatment plants. Production will be halted at the 72 MLD and 75 MLD plants, and work to replace a damaged valve in the main pipeline at Vellayambalam Junction will also be carried out.
Timing and Duration
The water supply will be completely disrupted from 8:00 AM on Friday to 6:00 AM on Saturday. During this period, residents in the affected areas are advised to store water in advance.
Areas with Complete Disruption
The following wards will experience a complete water supply disruption: Valiyathura, Vallakkadavu, Ambalathara, Kamaleswaram, Kalippankulam, Attukal, Manacaud, Sreevaraham, Poonthura, Puthenpally, Beemapally, Thampanoor, Kunnukuzhi, Vanchiyoor, Kannammoola, Pettah, Perunthanni, Chackai, Kadakampally, Karikkakom, Vettucaud, Poundukadavu, Palayam, Sasthamangalam, Vazhuthacaud, Thycaud, Valiyasala, Jagathy, Kumarapuram, Gowreesapattom, Anamugham, Medical College, Plamoodu, Nanthancode, Peroorkada, Pippinmoodu, Kowdiar, Ambalamukku, Mannammoola, Vazhayila, and Indira Nagar.
Areas with Partial Disruption
Partial disruption will occur in the wards of Paruthippara, Muttada, Kesavadasapuram, Pattom, Ulloor, Medical College, and Kudappanakunnu. Residents in these areas may experience low water pressure or intermittent supply.
