A demolition drive was conducted by the District Town Planner (DTP) team in an unauthorized colony in Sabalpur village, Yamunanagar district, on June 24, 2026. The operation focused on demolishing a network of unpaved (kutcha) roads built illegally within the colony.
Details of the Demolition Drive
DTP Rajesh Kumar stated that the drive was carried out under the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Preeti. The team operated on approximately two acres of land. Notices had been issued to the defaulters in accordance with the Controlled Area Act No. 41 of 1963, but the landowners had failed to obtain the necessary permissions before establishing the illegal colony, leading to the demolition.
Appeal to the Public
Rajesh Kumar appealed to the residents of the district not to invest their money in such unauthorized colonies. He advised that before purchasing any plot, individuals should contact the DTP office to verify the legality of the development. “Before carrying out any construction in the controlled area, one should obtain permission from the Town and Country Planning Department. The District Town Planner’s office can be contacted for any information in this regard on any working day,” said Rajesh Kumar.
The drive underscores the authorities’ commitment to curbing illegal land development and ensuring compliance with urban planning regulations. The DTP team continues to monitor such activities and take necessary action against violators.
