Over 1.48 Lakh Women in Ludhiana Receive Rs 52.19 Crore Under Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana
The much-awaited Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana was rolled out on Wednesday by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab. In Ludhiana district, 1,48,339 beneficiaries received a total of Rs 52,19,35,500 deposited directly into their accounts.
Scheme Details and Beneficiary Breakdown
As of June 30, the district has approximately 4.43 lakh eligible women beneficiaries. The funds deposited on Wednesday cover the next three months. Among the recipients, 97,060 women belong to the general category, while 51,279 are from the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
The Department of Social Security and Development of Women and Children, Punjab is compiling the data of beneficiaries and the amounts disbursed.
Fulfilling an Election Promise
AAP MLA Madan Lal Bagga stated that the promise made during the 2022 Assembly elections has been fulfilled. He confirmed that eligible women received amounts of Rs 3,000 or Rs 4,500, depending on their category, for the next three months.
This initiative is part of the AAP government's commitment to women empowerment and financial assistance in Punjab. The scheme aims to provide regular financial support to women, helping improve their economic status and quality of life.
