The Haryana Government has mandated that all pensioners and beneficiaries of state welfare schemes must verify their Date of Birth (DoB) on the official government portal within 30 days to continue receiving benefits. Those with unverified DoB records are receiving SMS notifications urging immediate action.
Verification Campaign by Haryana Parivar Pehchan Authority
The Haryana Parivar Pehchan Authority (HPPA) has launched a campaign to ensure accurate and transparent delivery of benefits under various schemes through the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP). Dr Satish Khola, state coordinator of HPPA, stated: "The citizens whose date of birth has not been verified and who are currently receiving benefits under any welfare scheme of the state government are being notified through SMS on their mobile phones. They have been given 30 days to complete the verification of their date of birth."
The PPP serves as a family ID system that facilitates access to pensions, subsidies, and other welfare programs. Unverified DoB records may lead to disruption of benefits.
How to Get DoB Verified
Citizens can verify their DoB through two modes: online via the Family Identity Portal or offline by visiting the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) in their district. Dr Khola urged residents who received the SMS to submit required documents promptly: "This will ensure that the information recorded in the Parivar Pehchan Patra remains updated and authentic, and that citizens do not face any difficulties in availing the benefits under government schemes in future."
Accepted Documents for Verification
Any of the following documents can be submitted as valid proof of date of birth:
- Birth Certificate
- School Leaving Certificate
- Class 10 Certificate
- Voter Identity Card (issued up to the year 2019)
- Passport
- PPO (Pension Payment Order)
Government's Objective
The HPP Authority clarified that both online and offline verification options are available for citizen convenience. "The objective of the government is solely to maintain accurate and updated records so that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the genuine and eligible beneficiaries," the authority stated. It appealed to all citizens to take timely action and ensure their DoB is correctly recorded in the Parivar Pehchan Patra or family ID.
