NEET Re-exam: Pradhan Urges 22 Lakh Students to Appear Fearlessly
NEET Re-exam: Pradhan Urges Students to Appear Fearlessly

Minister's Appeal to Students

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday urged the 22 lakh students appearing for the NEET re-examination across the country to sit for it fearlessly, confidently, and free of any anxiety or pressure. He made the remarks at a yoga event at Delhi University on International Day of Yoga.

Pradhan expressed complete faith in the National Testing Agency (NTA), state governments, district administrations, the education fraternity, and the students themselves. He said, "Today, around 22 lakh students are going to sit for NEET after a short while. They should sit fearlessly and free of anxiety. They will certainly do well. My many good wishes to the students."

Plea to Protect Mental Health

The minister appealed to people not to do anything that could affect children's mental health, emphasizing that the future of India's new generation should not be toyed with. "Please do not play with the future of India's new generation. Do not do anything that will impact the mental health of children. After a few hours, children are going to appear for the examination," he said.

Without naming anyone, Pradhan criticized some "so-called responsible people" who on Saturday behaved with "wrong intention" that affected children, urging them not to cause further distress. "At least if you are responsible, if you consider yourself a true citizen of India, if you represent the people of India, please take responsibility and do not give any more distress to the children," he added.

CBSE Results and NTA Admit Cards

Pradhan also announced that pending CBSE results would be released soon. "Out of nearly 17 lakh CBSE students, the results of around 15.5 lakh students have already come out. The process for those students who had applied for revaluation, reassessment and reverification is almost complete, and CBSE will publish those results very soon," he said.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) urged candidates to download fresh admit cards for the re-examination, as those issued for the May 3 exam are invalid. The agency said it had made admit cards available on its website and sent alerts via SMS, emails, and WhatsApp. However, some candidates had still not downloaded them as of 7 pm on June 20. The NTA reminded candidates that entry to centres opens at 11 am and closes at 1.30 pm, and advised carrying admit card, valid photo ID, two passport-size photographs, and avoiding prohibited items.

Background of the Re-exam

The NTA cancelled the May 3 NEET-UG 2026 exam amid allegations of a paper leak, and the government asked the CBI to conduct a comprehensive inquiry. The re-examination is being held on Sunday.
