Uttar Pradesh Government Unveils Comprehensive Child Development and Employment Drive

In a significant move to enhance child welfare and stimulate local job creation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to launch multiple initiatives at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow on Monday. The programs focus on bolstering child nutrition services and generating employment opportunities across the state, marking a pivotal step in grassroots development.

Advanced Health Monitoring Equipment Distribution

Director of Child Development and Nutrition, Sarneet Kaur Broca, announced the distribution of state-of-the-art growth monitoring devices to improve the tracking of children's health. This includes over 1.33 lakh stadiometers, 10,553 infantometers, and 58,237 weighing scales. These tools are essential for accurate health assessments and will be deployed statewide to ensure better nutritional outcomes for children.

Employment Boost Through Anganwadi Appointments

The launch event will feature the distribution of appointment letters to newly selected Anganwadi workers and helpers. Specifically, 10 Anganwadi workers and helpers will receive their letters, while public representatives will distribute appointments to 739 workers in 46 districts and 15,203 helpers in 42 districts. This initiative aims to strengthen the workforce dedicated to child care and community health services.

Digital Transformation and Infrastructure Enhancement

To support digital monitoring and efficient scheme implementation, the government plans to provide smartphones in phases to nearly 70,000 workers and supervisors. Additionally, a new Anganwadi centre design, costing approximately Rs 30.32 lakh per unit, will be unveiled. Foundation stones will be laid for 633 centres, 71 project offices, and 69 other units across various districts.

Inauguration of New Facilities

Further bolstering infrastructure, 2,468 Anganwadi centres and 69 project offices will be inaugurated across districts. These facilities are designed to improve service delivery at the grassroots level and create local employment opportunities, contributing to economic growth and community development.

Director Broca emphasized that these comprehensive initiatives will significantly enhance infrastructure and strengthen service delivery, ensuring better health and nutrition outcomes for children while fostering job creation in Uttar Pradesh.
