A tragic road accident in the holy city of Ujjain claimed the life of a 16-year-old school student on Saturday morning. The teenager, identified as Jafar, was on his way to a school rehearsal when a car collided with the scooter he was driving, leading to fatal injuries.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The incident occurred around 7 am on Saturday near the Karkaraj parking area. According to Mahakal police station in-charge Gagan Badal, Jafar was riding the two-wheeler with his classmate, Vishwajeet, seated behind him. Both students were heading to their school to attend a rehearsal for the upcoming Republic Day programme on January 26.
On the way, a car hit their vehicle. The impact was severe, throwing both youngsters off the scooter and onto the road. Jafar's head struck a road divider, causing critical injuries. He was declared dead on the spot by doctors at the district hospital, where bystanders had rushed the boys.
Victims and Aftermath
Jafar, a resident of Ramghat Marg, was a Class 9 student and the fourth of five children in his family. His father, Hifzul Rahman, works as a mason. The family was plunged into shock upon receiving the devastating news.
The pillion rider, Vishwajeet, sustained minor injuries but was reported to be in a state of deep shock due to the traumatic accident. He received treatment at the hospital. Vishwajeet's father, Shankar Lal, runs a tea shop near Narsingh Ghat, and the scooter involved in the accident is registered in his name.
Police Action and Case Registered
Officer Badal confirmed that the Mahakal police have taken cognizance of the incident. A case has been officially registered in connection with the accident. The investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances and liability surrounding the collision that cut a young life short on a Saturday morning.
