A 26-year-old man died after being stabbed in Indore's Banganga police station area late Friday night, with police attributing the attack to an old rivalry. The victim, identified as Vishal alias Nanu Verma, a resident of Rafeli in Bhagirathpura, was rushed to MY Hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Victim Named Assailants Before Death
According to police, Vishal was conscious when admitted to the hospital and provided details about the attackers while undergoing treatment. Based on his statement, investigators began identifying those involved in the assault. ACP Rubina Mizwani confirmed that the victim's statement recorded during treatment offered crucial leads in the case. A case has been registered.
Ongoing Investigation and Possible Minors Involved
Preliminary investigation revealed that Vishal and the accused had been at loggerheads for some time. The dispute escalated on Friday night when the attackers confronted him, stabbed him, and fled the scene. Officials stated that some of the accused are believed to be minors. Raids are underway to trace them, and their family members are being questioned to gather information about their whereabouts.
CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined to reconstruct the sequence of events and determine the exact motive behind the murder. Police said the circumstances leading to the attack would become clearer after the accused are arrested.
