In a significant development in the ongoing Delhi blast investigation, central agencies have detained three individuals from Haldwani's Banphoolpura area in Nainital district, including a mosque cleric, for their alleged connections with main accused Umar-un-Nabi.

Midnight Raid and Detentions

A specialized team from Delhi, working in coordination with local police units, conducted a dramatic raid during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. The operation, which took place around 2:30 AM, was assisted by personnel from the Nainital district police unit and Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF).

According to an officer who requested anonymity, the investigation team detained a cleric associated with a local mosque following critical findings from the call detail records of Umar-un-Nabi. The alleged mastermind behind the blast near Red Fort had reportedly been in communication with the religious leader, prompting the security action.

Evidence and Ongoing Investigation

"Two others were also detained during the raid, and all three are being questioned by the agencies who found strong evidence against them," the officer revealed to media sources. The investigative team has gathered substantial proof linking the detained individuals to the main accused in the Delhi explosion case.

The operation focused specifically on Banphoolpura area, which has a substantial minority population and previously witnessed violent clashes in February that resulted in five fatalities. Those disturbances erupted when residents confronted local administration and police officials conducting an anti-encroachment drive in the neighborhood.

Security Measures and Social Media Monitoring

Following the detentions, authorities have deployed substantial police forces throughout Banphoolpura to maintain public order and prevent any potential unrest. Nainital SSP Manjunath TC confirmed that personnel from more than five police stations have been strategically positioned throughout the area.

"We are also strictly monitoring social media activities to check for misinformation or rumors being spread over the development," SSP Manjunath stated, emphasizing the administration's proactive approach to preventing the circulation of unverified information that could escalate tensions in the sensitive region.

The ongoing investigation continues to unfold as central agencies work to establish the complete network behind the Delhi blast case and determine the exact nature of the relationship between the detained individuals and the primary suspect.
