3 Seriously Injured in Ratlam Car-Truck Crash Amid Heavy Fog

Early Morning Fog Claims Victims on Ratlam Road

In a distressing incident highlighting the perils of winter fog, three individuals sustained serious injuries when their car violently collided with the rear of a stationary truck. The accident took place in the wee hours of Saturday on the Radhanagari Jawra road, located in the Tal area of Ratlam district.

Zero Visibility and a Tragic Impact

The primary cause of the collision was identified as dense fog, which severely compromised visibility for drivers on that stretch. Police reports indicate that the car, carrying three occupants, crashed into the truck from behind. The impact was substantial, leading to critical injuries for all three people inside the car.

Authorities received the first alert about the crash at approximately 2 am on Saturday at the state-level Dial-112 control room in Bhopal. Demonstrating the emergency system's responsiveness, a first response vehicle from the Tal police station was immediately dispatched to the accident site.

Swift Rescue and Hospitalization

Upon reaching the location, the Dial-112 emergency team found the severely damaged car and the injured victims. The team acted promptly to provide initial aid and shifted all three victims to the government district hospital in Tal for urgent medical treatment.

The injured have been identified as:

  • Dharmendra, aged 35
  • Arjun Singh, aged 45
  • Munna, aged 50, a resident of Jawra

A Seasonal Hazard Demands Caution

This accident serves as a grim reminder of the increased risks on roads during the winter season, especially in regions prone to heavy fog. Reduced visibility demands extreme caution from drivers, including:

  • Driving at significantly reduced speeds.
  • Using fog lights and hazard lights appropriately.
  • Avoiding sudden braking and maintaining safe distance.

The swift action by the Dial-112 team likely played a crucial role in ensuring the injured received timely medical attention. The condition of the three men is being monitored at the district hospital as investigations into the precise sequence of events continue.
