A seven-year-old girl was gang-raped and murdered by a relative and his friend in the Oon police station area of Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh, police said on Wednesday.
Khargone Incident Details
According to Khargone Superintendent of Police Ravindra Verma, the incident occurred on Tuesday night when the victim's father sent the Class 1 student to buy ice candy from a shop about 100 metres away. The accused were sitting in a vacant shop opposite, watching pornographic films on a mobile phone, which triggered their premeditated plan, Verma said.
As the girl returned, the inebriated duo abducted her, took her to a barn 25 metres away in a stackyard, raped her, and strangled her to death. To conceal the body, they threw it in a straw pile and covered it with a plastic tub, the SP added.
Sidhi Gang-Rape Case
In a separate incident, a 15-year-old Class 9 student was gang-raped by three youths in Sidhi district. The survivor was also thrashed and sustained minor injuries.
Police arrested one accused, who is also a minor, on Tuesday. The investigation has been assigned to the DSP headquarters, which began its probe on Wednesday. The incident took place under the Kotwali police station area on the night of May 2.
Police said the Class 9 student was sleeping in the courtyard with her mother due to the heat when three youths allegedly abducted her by gagging her and took her to a nearby forest, where she was sexually assaulted. The accused allegedly fled after leaving the girl there, and she later returned home and informed her mother.
DSP headquarters Sidhi, Aman Mishra, told TOI: "One of the accused was known to the survivor; he called her out on the pretext of talking, but as she went out, the trio overpowered her. The two others who were present took turns to rape her. They also thrashed her when she resisted, causing minor injuries. One accused is arrested; a search for the other two is ongoing."
