A private bus traveling from Ranchi to Patna met with a serious accident on Saturday afternoon, leaving eight passengers with injuries. The incident occurred when the vehicle lost control and turned turtle at Mahanitar village near the scenic Danua-Bhanua valley section of NH-2.
Timely Rescue Operation by Police
The accident took place around 12 noon on Saturday under the jurisdiction of Chouparan police station in Hazaribag district. According to Saroj Choudhury, the officer-in-charge of Chouparan police station, authorities responded promptly to emergency calls.
Police teams accompanied by rescue personnel and ambulance services rushed to the accident site immediately after receiving information. The injured passengers were carefully extracted from the overturned bus and transported to the community health centre located in Chouparan for urgent medical attention.
Road Blockage and Clearance Efforts
The overturned bus created significant disruption on the busy national highway, causing NH-2 to remain blocked for several hours during the peak travel time. The situation demanded coordinated efforts from local authorities to restore normal traffic flow.
Police arranged for a crane to be brought to the accident site to remove the damaged bus from the roadway. After systematic clearing operations, the national highway was successfully reopened for vehicular movement, minimizing the inconvenience to other travelers.
Medical officials confirmed that all eight injured passengers received necessary treatment at the community health centre and were subsequently discharged, indicating that none of the injuries were life-threatening. The prompt response from emergency services played a crucial role in ensuring positive outcomes for all affected individuals.
