Rajasthan Agent Detained in Cambodia Cybercrime Human Trafficking Case

Chittorgarh police have taken into custody an agent named Lucky Mochi for intensive questioning following shocking allegations that youth from Rajasthan were systematically sent abroad under false pretenses and coerced into participating in organized cybercrime operations in Cambodia.

Police Action Following Investigative Exposé

Chittorgarh Superintendent of Police Manish Tripathi confirmed that multiple specialized police teams were mobilized to locate and detain the agent after a detailed investigative report brought the disturbing scheme to light. "After TOI's comprehensive report, we successfully detained Mochi, who resides in the Gangrar area of Chittorgarh, and he is currently undergoing rigorous questioning," stated SP Tripathi. The police official further revealed that authorities have established direct communication with the Indian Embassy in Cambodia and have conducted detailed discussions with embassy officials regarding the unfolding situation.

Detailed Pattern of Deception and Coercion

The case originated from a Times of India news report titled "Youths lured to Cambodia with fake jobs, forced into cybercrime," published on Friday, which meticulously documented how unsuspecting young individuals were being ensnared in international cybercrime networks after being promised legitimate computer-related employment opportunities in foreign countries.

According to information provided by Indian Embassy officials in Cambodia to Chittorgarh police, agent Lucky Mochi had facilitated the travel of numerous youths from Rajasthan abroad by presenting them with fraudulent offers of lucrative employment in the computer technology sector. The embassy officials disclosed a harrowing sequence of events that unfolded once these Indian youth arrived in Cambodia.

  1. Upon arrival at Cambodian airports, the youth were immediately met by handlers who confiscated their travel documents including visas and passports, along with their personal mobile devices.
  2. The individuals were then subjected to a mandatory one-month intensive training program in various cybercrime techniques and methodologies.
  3. Following this coercive training period, they were compelled to execute cyber fraud operations specifically targeting citizens in Hindi-speaking regions of India.

Sophisticated Cybercrime Methodology Employed

Police investigations revealed particularly disturbing aspects of the cybercrime training regimen. Embassy officials informed authorities that the Indian youth were trained to utilize artificial intelligence software capable of mimicking female voices with remarkable accuracy. This technological manipulation was employed as a strategic tool to defraud Hindi-speaking Indian citizens through sophisticated social engineering tactics.

Furthermore, the Cambodian-based trainers—many of whom were previously involved in cyber fraud activities themselves—developed and provided detailed scripts outlining specific methods for committing cyber fraud against Indian targets. These meticulously crafted scripts were then implemented by the coerced Indian youth, who were forced to use their own mobile devices to target fellow citizens back home.

Financial Exploitation and Expanding Investigation

During police interrogation, it was revealed that detained agent Lucky Mochi extracted approximately Rs 15,000 from each youth prior to facilitating their travel abroad. Authorities are also gathering crucial information from the detained individuals regarding a young couple from Chittorgarh district who were similarly sent abroad and subsequently forced into cyber criminal activities.

Official Warning to Public

SP Manish Tripathi has issued a stern advisory to parents and youth throughout Chittorgarh district, urging extreme caution regarding overseas job offers. "I strongly appeal to all residents to verify the authenticity of any foreign employment opportunities with Chittorgarh police authorities before making any travel commitments abroad," emphasized the police official, highlighting the critical importance of due diligence in preventing similar exploitation.
